Narrator denoted only by initial B. restores the life story of his half-brother, the late writer Sebastian Knight, using memories, oral stories and excerpts from his books Escape from persistent searches in . Knight’s true life is directly connected with the mystery of his name, with his writings, with the laws of verbal art and with Nabokov’s metaphysics. The present edition of the novel is accompanied by a foreword, notes and a final essay by the translator. Features of spelling, punctuation and transliteration of the translator are preserved.
