The present collection of poems by Vladimir Nabokov (1899–1977) consisted of both well-known and first published works written in Europe and America in 1918-1947. Recently deciphered and newly found in the archive of the writer of the poem , Among them is The Legend of the Moon (1920). "Electricity" (1920) , "In the North Wild" (1920) , "Olympicum" (1921), significantly complement the Russian part of his bilingual poetic baggage and discover unknown sides in his creative development. In the poetry of the famous author of Lolita and Hell, the origins and prerequisites for the originality of his prose are found: subtle psychologism, pictorial vision of descriptions, accurate observations, a special "mirror" of the style, a combination of fiction with autobiographicalism. The poems “Two” (1919), “The Legend of the Moon”, “Electricity”, “In the North Wild” are published for the first time; the text of the most significant of Nabokov’s early poems “Sunny Dream” (1923) is again checked with the manuscript . Another recent archival find, Superman's Regret Song (1942), is an original Nabokovian interpretation of the American comic book hero. The publication is provided with comments and illustrative material.
