The present volume of the collection of Russian-language works by Vladimir Nabokov (1899-1977) is devoted to the period 1935-1937. , when his novels Invitation to Execution (1935-1936; 1938) and Gift (1937-1938; 1952) were published, as well as the stories later included in the collections Watch and Spring in Fialta . In all possible cases, the texts are checked against the originals, accompanied by detailed notes. This volume analyzes for the first time three author's editions of the text of the essay [In Memory of A. About. Fondaminskaya] (1937): autograph, typewriting and final printed version.
