The first edition of this book was published in 1954 .. Published by . the USSR Academy of Sciences . The history of the appearance of this book is as follows: The chemical department of the Academy of Sciences planned to hold in 1955. All-Union Meeting on Chemical Kinetics and Reactivity. I was instructed to make an introductory report at this meeting. While working on it, I came to the conclusion that it would be useful to write and print a small book where literary materials on the issues of discussion and my personal views in this area would be presented. The book was published in 1954. In the first half of 1955[edit] A collection published by the same publishing house was published, in which 69 reports were published, presented by various authors from different cities of the Soviet Union. The meeting took place from 20 to 25 June 1955. and presented a special general discussion on the issues covered in my book and the reports of the collection. The meeting raised a number of important issues related to the development of the teaching of chemical kinetics and reactivity .. The book was released for the meeting in a relatively small format, which quickly diverged, and therefore it was considered desirable to release the book in a second edition. Initiated by Pergamon Press, the Academy of Sciences of the GDR and Princeton University, this work is currently being translated into English and German. For the second edition, the book was significantly expanded by me, taking into account new data obtained in the world literature at the Institute of Chemical Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR ..
