Being on a tourist trip to Israel, it can be assumed that the basis of Jewish cuisine are dishes of different peoples of the world. This is not the case.. Although Israel is cosmopolitan enough to offer a tourist pizza or sushi, Jewish cuisine has its roots. Traditional recipes, passed down from generation to generation, are intertwined with the gastronomic influences of the Middle East, the Mediterranean, Central and Eastern Europe and all corners of the world, where the people of the sons of Israel are scattered. Jewish cuisine of the Middle East is somewhat similar to Arabic, but Sephardi, natives of medieval Spain, and Ashkenazim, who were under the influence of Polish, German and Russian traditions, contributed their own special notes to it.
