The philosophical and theological heritage of Grigor Tatevatsi is enormous. His major works show a noticeable influence from the philosophy of David Anakht. A significant place in the works of Grigor Tatevatsi is occupied by the question of the relationship between God and nature. He interprets the act of divine creation of nature in the spirit of Aristotle as the transformation of the possibility of existence into reality. The material world is in constant change, which is the key to its eternity. Tatevatsi called for exploring the world by acquiring specific knowledge and based on one’s own experience, considering the path from general theory to specific facts unhelpful. A supporter of the independence of the spheres of knowledge and faith, he explained that a person must receive education, then training, and after that he should move on to knowledge. His writings also covered issues of state and law.
