"1984" - the famous anti-utopia novel, which is considered a cult book of the XX century and influenced the worldview of several generations of readers. In Russia, this book, which occupies the 2nd place in the list of 100 best books of all times and peoples according to the authoritative magazine Newsweek and translated into more than 65 languages, was included in the list of prohibited literature until 1988. "Animal Court" is a satirical fairy tale in which the author masterfully depicted the substitution of utopian revolutionary ideals and their replacement by the principles of totalitarian dictatorship. It is believed that in his story Orwell tried to allegorically represent the October Revolution of 1917 along with its consequences. A new translation of Orwell's works was specially made for the present edition by Rostislav Grishchenkov. The book uses original illustrations by Vera Dubrovskaya.
