On February 15, 1945, George Orwell went to Germany as a war correspondent to tell about life in destroyed Europe as an eyewitness. Here, for the first time, his bright and deep notes of the forties about the world war, its price and consequences are collected. The war has been the focus of Orwell's radio and newspaper appearances since his participation in the battles with the Frankists in Spain in 1936-1937. In 1944, the house where Orwell lived with his family was destroyed by German bombs. The writer had many reasons for hating opponents. But in his journalistic works, he first of all thinks about the future and seeks for all people a way out of the bloody impasses of total war and disunity. This book includes 25 of Orwell's works, including the famous articles "On revenge killings", "Revenge is disgusting" and a review of Hitler's Mein Kampf.
