The previously considered lost Gospel of Judas is the third work in the Chacos Codex and occupies pages 33-58. in it. The preservation of handwriting is satisfactory, but in some cases, researchers had to collect text from pieces, like a children's mosaic. We note with regret that this was caused not so much by the antiquity of the codex as by the barbaric treatment of it already in the 20th century. Illegally owned code speculators antiquities — I recall , that under internationally recognized Egyptian laws, the smuggling and resale of such monuments is a crime not only unwilling to provide it with decent storage conditions They even began to sell handwriting in parts .. Only now will the codex be returned to Egypt and take its place at the Coptic Museum in Cairo next to the codes of Nag Hammadi. The text of the Gospel of Judas is a translation from the unpreserved Greek original into the Said dialect of the Coptic language. The manuscript, like the Nag Hammadi codes, dates back to the 4th century.
