Additional training in agronomy , Agrobiotechnology , Environmental Management and Safety The biological safety of genetically modified organisms (biosafety food expertise) is devoted to the assessment of the biological safety of GMOs and products derived from them. Within this course, general ideas about the structure and functioning of the genome, modern technologies for producing GMOs and the successes achieved in agriculture and other areas of human activity with the help of modern genetic engineering technologies are considered. Much attention is paid to the fundamental foundations of the existence of potential and real risks in the use of GMOs, as well as the analysis of available literary data on food, environmental and agronomic risks in the cultivation of transgenic plants. Issues of international and Russian legal regulation of genetic engineering activities are considered, as well as the attitude of the population and governments of different countries to the products of genetic engineering technologies. A special place is given to the analysis of modern methods of identification of transgenes in raw materials, food and natural ecosystems, as well as national standards operating in Russia in this area, and ISO standards devoted to the regulation of the flow of GM food products. The proposed training course is intended for agronomists, primarily agrobiotechnologists, as an additional educational project or can be a course of choice for the specialty Agronomy . In addition, this course can be very useful for a wide range of students interested in the safety of modern technologies for humans and their environment.
