A detailed description of the methodology of linguistic diagnostics of social processes is proposed, including a demonstration of interdisciplinary and linguistic methods and specific methods relevant for the analysis of social dynamics in synchronicity and diachrony. Representations of civil society are considered on the basis of “new media” blogs, social networks and convergent media. The results of psycholinguistic experiments focused on the study of basic concepts of civil society are presented. Various discursive practices are described, representing different areas in which ideas about civil society are generated and transformed. For philologists, journalists, public relations and advertising professionals, as well as undergraduate and graduate students studying contemporary speech in a social context.
