The question of the diffraction of radio waves around the earth's surface is devoted to extensive literature; an overview of the latest research can be found in the article acad. B. A. Vvedensky . Interest in this issue is justified by the fact that at short distances, on the order of several hundred kilometers, the refraction of radio waves in the ionized layers of the atmosphere can be neglected, and diffraction plays a decisive role in the propagation of radio waves. Thus, the study of the propagation of radio waves is reduced to a simpler mathematical problem .. The efforts of numerous authors involved in this task, however, did not lead to a satisfactory result. obtaining such formulas for the amplitude of the waves that would correctly take into account all the essential circumstances (the curvature of the earth's surface, the height of the source, the final electrical conductivity of the earth) and at the same time would be simple enough to allow numerical calculations. In this work, we mean to fill this gap.
