The course of contract theory occupies a special place in the master's and doctoral programs in economics of Western universities and is especially relevant in teaching economics in Russian universities. Contract theory combines recent (last 30 years) advances in microeconomic theory in the field of models with asymmetric information and unobservable actions. Unlike general equilibrium theory, contract theory does not use assumptions about perfect competition and no transaction costs. Moreover, it explores the question of where these costs come from and what they depend on, and how interactions are arranged in the case of a bilateral monopoly. The theory of contracts explains the causes and consequences of incomplete contracts, is the basis of modern property theory and the formalization of a new institutional economy. Applications of contract theory include the theory of insurance and employment contracts, Theory of price discrimination of the second kind , Economic theory of organization , The Theory of Corruption , The Theory of Employment Contracts and Internal Labor Markets , Theory of Auctions , Theory of Financial Contracts , Modern company theory and t. d. In addition to lecture notes, the training set includes 40 tasks on contract theory
