"The Beaux-Stratagem" (Ukrainian: "City of Love") is a comedy-mystification by the famous Irish playwright George Farquhar, which was published in 1707. In this work, the author depicts the story of two young landowners who come to the town of Litchfield in search of love and wealth. They skillfully combine the talent of screenwriters and inventors to win the trust and love of local residents. Each of them has their own plans for the purpose of their trip, however, when they begin to play their game, the plot gradually intertwines, bringing many comic situations and unexpected turns. "City of Love" is a fun and light comedy, which is full of sharp humor and unexpected endings.
