Prayudh Payutto, also known by his current monastic title Phra Bhramagunaborn, is a renowned Thai Buddhist monk, intellectual and prolific writer. He ranks among the most eminent learned monks in Thailand's Buddhist history. Prayudh has given lectures and written articles on a wide variety of topics related to Buddhism, including "the position of women in Buddhism" and "the relationship between Buddhism and the environment." In 1994 he received an award from UNESCO for peace education. Since his monastic title changed from time to time, his works are listed under various names - for example Phra Rajavaramuni, Phra Dhebvedhi, Phra Dhamapitaka.
