The Cold House (DT) Bleak House is the ninth novel by Charles Dickens (1853), which opens the period of artistic maturity of the writer. In this book, a cross-section of all layers of British society of the Victorian era is given, from the highest aristocracy to the world of the city gate, and secret connections between them are revealed. The beginnings and endings of many chapters are marked by bursts of high Carlisle rhetoric.
