Blessed Elder Matrona (nee Matryona Dmitrievna Nikonova (November 9 (22), 1881 - May 2, 1952) is a saint of the Russian Orthodox Church. She was revered during her lifetime as a soothsayer and wonderworker. The life of Matryona is known primarily from Zinaida Zhdanova’s book “The Legend about the life of the blessed old lady Matrona.”
