The third volume includes works written by M. Bitter in 189699. Of these, the following were included in the previous collections of the writer's works: "Konovalov", "Boles", "Zubrina", "Fair in Holtva", "Ozornik", "The Spouses of Orlov", "Former People", "Malva", "Boredom for the sake of", "In the steppe", "Passenger", "Friends", "Cain and Artem", "O chort" All these works were repeatedly edited by M. Bitter. They were last edited by the writer when preparing a collection of essays in the publication of the Book, in 1923-1927. The remaining 12 works of the third volume were first included in the collection of works of the GIHL in 1949.
