M. : Preprint of IKI RAS, 2003. — 48 s. The development of multi-frequency remote sensing methods provides an opportunity to quantify the parameters of the natural environment under study. One of the objects of research by remote sensing methods, including radiometry, radar, dielectric spectroscopy, are soils, rocks and soils. They, like most natural environments, are not homogeneous, but are a dispersed system consisting of two or more phases. Soil moisture, that is, the volume or weight of water in the soil is an important factor necessary for solving a number of problems of hydrology, construction, agriculture, climatology. Determination of moisture and soil moisture profile, surface water level by ultra-high frequency remote sensing methods is based on the contrast of the dielectric permeability of water and dry soil.
