Smolensk: SGPU, 2003. 204 s. with rice. This book is the second part of the three-volume textbook . It deals with the software of a modern personal computer (PC). The manual is aimed at students and teachers of a humanitarian profile and is a reasonably advanced course in computer science and new information technologies . It can be used when reading the courses "Computer Science", "Mathematics and Informatics", "New Information Technologies" and "Technical Means of Training" in pedagogical and other universities . When selecting materials for this manual, three important principles were taken into account:- the material of the manual should be modern and take into account the rapid pace of software development; - it should be available to students of humanitarian specialties, taking into account the extremely limited number of hours allocated to courses on new information technologies ; - it should be the basis of laboratory and practical work, but not replace their content and description. In accordance with this, the manual describes the latest operating system Windows XP. at the time of its preparation. We limited ourselves to a brief description of a fairly simple programming language QBasic, since the purpose of teaching serious programming in this manual was not originally pursued. Multimedia software and means of work on the Internet are described in sufficient detail . The description of office programs contains a reasonable minimum of information sufficient to begin practical work with them. Repetitions of material on these software tools are minimized.
