The article considers the subtle methods of detection and observation of magnetic fields of celestial bodies, describes the methodological foundations of modern photoelectric photometry with high-sensitivity equipment .. The reader gets acquainted with polarization measurements and infrared techniques, as well as with various methods of application in astronomy of various image amplifiers. A number of chapters are devoted to astronomical instruments and their observation methods. In the final chapters, methods for determining the orbits of different types of binary stars are discussed.
