The book, for the first time (1992), provides a systematic review of Soviet space systems for military purposes in open domestic literature. A classification of military space systems according to the functions performed is given, the organizational evolution of the USSR space program is considered, and Soviet military and dual-use space systems are described. The book contains extensive reference and statistical material and is intended for specialists in space technology, as well as for people interested in astronautics.
The author is a graduate of the Faculty of Aerophysics and Space Research of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. He has been studying space programs for more than 10 years, going from an amateur to a professional analyst.
