In this work, a systematic description of the main modes of movement of a single wheel pair and wheel pairs in carts is made, taking into account the restrictions that are imposed on their movement on the side of the cart frame and rail gauge. The obtained results will allow to investigate the cases of slip on the rails of the wheel rolling surfaces, to determine the causes of intensive wear of the wheel combs in the curves of small radius, the conditions for rolling the wheel comb on the head of the rail.
