The book in a popular form tells about the plasma state of matter, the role of plasma in phenomena in the Universe, on Earth and some of the numerous applications of plasma, which are actively developing at the present time and will be widely used in the coming century. The focus is on the latest examples of plasma use, including medicine and nanotechnology, many of which have appeared already in this century. The presentation is accompanied by a very limited number of elementary physical concepts characterizing the plasma state of the substance. The level of these concepts corresponds to the school physics course, so the publication should be available to schoolchildren. The choice of material, as well as the nature of the presentation, is free, based on the personal experience of the author and has the form of a popular lecture with examples from the life of the Department of Plasma Physics and other departments of MEPhI ..
