These guidelines are intended for students of the 2nd year of the Faculty of Pharmacy. The workshop on organic chemistry is held for 3 and 4 semesters . The programme of the workshop includes the study of theoretical material on the main sections of the course of organic chemistry and their consideration in the seminar sessions . Laboratory work is studying qualitative reactions for the main functional groups in molecules in order to identify them. In addition, it is provided to familiarize with the basic methods of cleaning liquid and solid samples (various types of distillation, recrystallization, sublimation), as well as to perform work on the synthesis of certain classes of substances .. In the course of these works, students master the techniques of conducting a complex experiment - assembling the device, performing synthesis, isolation and purification of the received drug. Acquired skills and abilities are necessary in further professional activities in the chosen specialty.
