The study involved workers in coal mines between the ages of 30 and 40. A total of 86 miners were surveyed, whose professional activities are accompanied by significant psycho-social stress of the body. The control group consisted of men (60 people) of the same age, who did not work in extreme conditions of production. They studied the secretory activity of the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland, thyroid and sexual glands, mineral and glu-cocorticoid function of the adrenal glands, the state of the sympatho-adrenal system and lipid exchange processes .. It is established that in miners, extreme labor conditions cause functional stress of both central and peripheral mechanisms of humoral regulation of functions .. They have increased secretion of ACTH and LH and reduced - TSH and FSH; increased release into the blood of testosterone and aldosterone; enhanced lipid metabolism. In persons with low resistance to emotional stress, there is activation in the adenohypophyseal function, an increase in androgen secretion and an intensification of lipid peroxidation processes .. The sympatho-adrenal reaction of the stress factor is characterized by a more significant release of adrenaline than norepinephrine .. Keywords: hormones, lipid metabolism, emotional stress
