This textbook contains a summary of lectures on personality psychology taught by the author in the framework of the humanitarian course of choice during the 1993 - 1998 academic year for students and graduate students of MIPT . The manual is intended for preparation for tests and examinations, as well as for all interested issues of general and individual psychology . The course presents the most important topics in content that students can get acquainted with on their own, and, if necessary, deepen their interests, relying on the list of additional literature offered in the manual .. This course of lectures can be considered as an introduction to psychology, given the number of hours for which it is calculated. The purpose of this work is to fill the existing gap in the teaching material on psychology in preparation for classes, the actualization of psychological knowledge within the framework of humanitarian courses. The main content consists of the most famous personological concepts of Western European and American psychologists. Such areas as psychoanalysis, behaviorism, cognitive psychology, humanistic psychology are considered. The manual contains only a brief analysis of the directions under consideration and does not pretend to the breadth of the presentation . The basis for the lectures was translated works of famous personologists, analytical materials in the field of personality psychology, a monograph on the theory of personality by Hyell L. and Ziegler D. Different methodological approaches to the personality and the nature of its behavior provide an opportunity to see the "one in many ways", to determine one's own judgment on behavioral problems.
