I am extremely glad that Vladimir Maikov presents to the Russian audience my books on procedural work devoted to internal work with the dreaming body and work with comatose states. These books arose from a single need: to develop methods that allow us to explore the depths of the amazing spaces through which we move in the process of dreaming. "Internal work with the dreaming body" is intended for use in varying degrees independently of the therapist. The book develops methods that are hugely dependent on the efforts, attention and concentration that we dedicate to our inner life. In any case, this inner work brings us the understanding not only of ourselves, but also of everyone else. In the end, all people go through altered states of consciousness and all of them try to follow their experiences as they manifest in sound, movement, through fantasy, in relationships and in the world. Those who have done inner work with the dreaming body not only have better access to their inner life, but it seems easier for them to deal with their moods and altered states of consciousness. Moreover, it seems that these people pass through comatose states and moments close to death, with greater ease, if not others. The length of time we spend in severe altered states of consciousnessespecially when we are gravely ill or on the verge of deathdepends heavily on our ability to deal with the inner experiences we go through in these moments. There is no doubt that the more we have succeeded in internal work as assistants, the more successful we can be in supporting others as they go through comatose processes. I was amazed at the enormous interest in coma in the world, judging by the excited atmosphere around coma that is observed in the media in the United States, Europe and Japan. At this very moment, thousands, maybe millions of people around the world live in closed-comatosis states. There is no doubt that if they themselves or those who help them learn more about inner work and about working with a coma, life for each of them will surely become more valuable, richer and perhaps easier. Let Russian readers enjoy and accept everything that they consider valuable for themselves, from procedurally oriented work and work with a coma, which combine imagination, movement, careful touch and relationships.
