Civil Engineering in the Oceans VI is a collection of 42 technical papers presented at the specialty conference held in Baltimore, Maryland on October 20-22, 2004. With the theme “Meeting the New Challenges of the 21st Century”, this proceedings is designed to be a comprehensive handbook of state-of-the-art coastal and offshore engineering in the fields of waves and wave forces, harbor and marine transportation systems, and education. Initiated in 1967, this international conference is the sixth in a series sponsored by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and its Coasts, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institute (COPRI).
