"Big Papers" is a collection of satirical poems by the American poet James Russell Lowell, which was published in 1848. In these poems, the author ridicules the political and social problems of his time, using sharp humor and sharp words. "Big papers" reflect the atmosphere of political events in the 1840-50s in the United States, condemning slavery, the war with Mexico, corruption in power and other negative phenomena.
