The volumes of the History of the Peoples of Uzbekistan (1947, 1950) published a few years ago were the first large consolidated work on the history of the Uzbek SSR from ancient times to the Great October Socialist Revolution. In recent years, as a result of new research and discoveries, significant material has been accumulated. The issues of historical periodization are more in-depth, Ethnogenesis of Uzbek and other peoples of Central Asia , Feudal Land Ownership , the progressive role of the accession of Central Asia to Russia , the feudal movements of the second half of the XIX century . , the 1916 uprising, the role of the working class in preparing the revolutionary events of 1917, and others. All this required a thorough revision of the material of both volumes and necessitated a second revised edition. In view of , that the former division of the History of the Peoples of Uzbekistan into the first and second volumes did not correspond to the Marxist historical periodization of Central Asia Gives the reader an impression, that the time after the conquest of Maverannahr by Sheibani Khan is allocated by the author's team and editorial staff in the new period, It was decided to combine all the material before the Great October Socialist Revolution into one volume. dedicating the second volume of the History of the Uzbek SSR to the October Revolution and the Soviet period . But since the first volume, covering the complex and full of important events of the history of many millennia, should have turned out to be too large and cumbersome, it was decided to divide it into two books. The first book covers the history of primitive society, the ancient period, and the Middle Ages until the middle of the 18th century. The second book begins with the second half of XVIII in . , when in three Central Asian hansgwa there is a well-known centralization of power, the beginning of overcoming feudal fragmentation, revival in agriculture and trade and craft life of cities. Of particular importance at this time is the expansion and strengthening of economic and cultural ties with the Russian state, which later led to the accession of Central Asia to Russia. Thus, the division of the 1st volume of the History of the Uzbek SSR into the first and second books is conditional, adopted for the convenience of publication.
