The main character of this story is a bartender who works in an ordinary diner "Phoenix", which is a kind of refuge from the dullness for the residents of the city: someone ends up there by accident, and someone goes there for years - one way or another, the calm course of life of the diner is violated by the Landlord: the owner of the Phoenix area, who in a cunning way wants to take it away from the owner. That's when it starts to become clear that there's more to the diner than walls and tables; and its visitors, whose stories and thoughts the reader sees through the eyes of the bartender, have something in common and are involved in something more, without knowing it. This story is also more than a story about the week after which the diner will be taken away from its owner. It is large-scale and laconic at the same time, it answers questions, while leaving the reader the opportunity to clarify the picture completely. The stories that Phoenix visitors tell are perspectives on life and its meaning. Their opinions differ, and the reader can choose any of them - or not choose at all: the story does not say what is true and what is not; does not teach life and does not impose philosophy - the correct thing will be what the one who reads to the end this intricate story, in which each character influences the fate of everyone: and the fate of the diner that united them, will take away for themselves.
