“I remember the first time I heard about radio. These were ironic newspaper articles about a real radio hurricane threatening to devastate America. Nevertheless, the impression was created that this was not only a fashionable, but a truly modern matter. This impression then dissipated very soon when we heard the radio in our home. At first, of course, they were surprised how these sound transmissions arrived, but then this surprise gave way to another surprise: what kind of transmissions come from the air spheres. It was a colossal triumph of technology: the Viennese waltz and culinary recipes are now finally available to the whole world.”
