The Commonwealth of Independent States has existed for more than 25 years. Over the past period, many problems have accumulated, the main one being the discrepancy between practical activities in the CIS and the “letter and spirit” of its constituent documents. The CIS states are overly carried away by the process of “divorce.” There is a need to correct the documents and practices of the Commonwealth in the interests of all its participants. Otherwise, relapses into the Georgian and Ukrainian scenarios of centers of power external to the CIS are possible.
