This textbook was prepared in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard for Higher Professional Education in the direction of training 111100. 68 "Zootechnia", as the GEF VPO provides for the inclusion in the curricula of the discipline on the history and methodology of relevant science. The manual describes the history of the development of animal husbandry and zootechnics, starting with the domestication of farm animals. Along with the presentation of the main stages of the development of zootechnical sciences, the manual includes materials about outstanding scientists who have made a significant contribution to the creation and improvement of zootechnical science. The proposed training manual meets the modern requirements of higher education and is designed for students enrolled in the direction of training 111100 "Zootechnia" .
