This volume is the first attempt in our country and abroad to synthetically present the poetry of the peoples of the USSR from the IV to the XVIII century, to give a kind of anthology of poetry of the feudal era. As you can easily guess, all the poetry of such a vast historical period will not fit into the ten most voluminous folios. Therefore, the compilers selected the most significant and characteristic from their point of view of the works, focusing mainly on the lyrics and placing excerpts from epic poems only as an exception.
