Jean Baudrillard is a French sociologist, culturologist, and postmodern philosopher, often referred to as the "guru" ("spiritual father") of postmodernism. Baudrillard argued that the modern era is characterized by a sense of loss of reality, it was replaced by simulation, and all the manifestations of the surrounding world have become nothing more than “simulacra”.
