The 8th-century Japanese poetry anthology Manyushu (Collection of the Myriads of Leaves) is the oldest written monument of Japanese poetry and is deservedly considered a treasure trove of Japanese literature, one of the most valuable cultural monuments of the Japanese people, the subject of its national pride. The anthology "Manyushu" contains poems of about five hundred authors, whose number includes famous poets of the early Middle Ages: Hitomaro, Akahito, Okura, Tabito, Yakamoti and many others.
