“Nutrition and Physical Degeneration” is a book that changes the way people look at the world around them. It is impossible to look at the attractive images of the so-called “natives”, to see their broad faces with correct and noble features and not to understand that serious problems are observed in the development of modern children. During his travels, Weston Price visited the villages of Switzerland detached from the outside world and islands open to all winds off the Scottish coast. The objects of its study were living in traditional conditions Eskimos, Indian tribes of Canada and southern Florida, residents of the South Pacific region, Australian aborigines, New Zealand Maori, Peruvian and Amazonian Indians, as well as representatives of indigenous African tribes. In every isolated region Price visited, he found tribes or villages where virtually every resident was characterized by genuine physical perfection. The teeth of these people were rarely sick, and the problems of too closely planted and crooked teeth the very problems that allow American orthodontists to buy yachts and expensive houses in resorts were completely absent. Price shot and captured these white-toothed smiles on camera, while noting that the locals were invariably cheerful and optimistic. These people were distinguished by "excellent physical development" and almost complete absence of diseases, even in cases where they had to live in extremely difficult conditions. Many experts in the field of dietetics, who followed in the footsteps of Price, consider this book a real masterpiece. Nevertheless, this storehouse of wisdom of our ancestors is still virtually unknown to modern doctors and parents, although more than 60 years have passed since the first edition of the book.
