Guillaume Apollinaire (18801918) was one of the most important names in the history of European literature. He was destined to end the classical period of French poetry and open the horizons of the “new lyrical consciousness”. Brilliant prose writer, art theorist, literary historian, critic, journalist, playwright - each area of his work became the property of the culture of the 20th century. As part of Apollinaire's first collection of works in Russia, samples of his artistic and literary criticism are given for the first time in such a volume, primarily individual works about Picasso, about Cubist artists, about contemporary poets. The third volume of the Collected Works includes stories of different years, critical essays and articles by the author.
