In contrast to the previous issue - "Soviet tanks of the Second World War" ("Armour Collection" No. 1, 1995 . ) - this edition covers almost all armored vehicles: domestic tanks, self-propelled artillery units, armored vehicles, equipment that arrived in the USSR on a lend-lease, as well as captured combat vehicles . The information is presented in the traditional for our magazine and the laconic reference form beloved by readers and is accompanied by a large number of schemes. It should be emphasized that the sections of the handbook devoted to tanks are significantly expanded - they include data on the MS-1, T-27 and T-80 machines, the absence of which in the release of three years ago, readers rightly noted as a drawback. The rest of the information is further verified: the tactical and technical characteristics are corrected on the basis of archival data and sources, until the very last time remained inaccessible to researchers; the figures and facts are clarified and supplemented. This explains the discrepancies in some of the data of a number of combat vehicles in the current edition and the 1995 edition.
