The story “In the valleys of the Ringwaak”, better known as “Red Fox”, was written a long time ago, in 1905, but in Russian it appears for the first time. Its author, the outstanding Canadian writer and naturalist Charles Roberts (1860-1943), received worldwide recognition for his stories from the life of nature. His works were repeatedly printed in the Soviet Union, a native of Eastern Canada, Charles Roberts passionately loved and knew his land well. The animals and birds of the deaf Canadian forests became the heroes of his stories and stories. The life of animals in Roberts' books is closely intertwined with the life of nature as a whole.
