"David of Sasun" - a medieval Armenian epic, telling about the struggle of the heroes from Sasun (a region in historical Armenia, now in Turkey) against the Arab invaders . Concluded in the 7thth centuries (no later than the 13th). The epic consists of four branches. The first is Sanasar and Baghdasar, the second is Mher the Elder, the third is David, the fourth is Mher the Younger.
