This edition contains works devoted to the study of the Jewish traditions of divine mediators and their role in the formation of early Christian theology. The materials of the collection show that in early Judaism there were several types of divine mediators, which included (1) personalized divine attributes and powers (such as, for example, the Wisdom of God or the Divine Logos). (2) Ascended Biblical figures (such as Enoch, Melchizedek, and Moses); and (3) the great angels (Michael and Jehoel). The collection focuses on the traditions of ascended biblical figures such as Enoch and Melchizedek and the influence these celestial mediators had on early Christological representations.
