[from the foreword] Research work is an integral part of the activities of any higher educational institution, in this regard, the Department of Restoration of Art Metal of the Moscow State Academy of Art and Industry . C. G. Stroganova turned to research in the field of openwork jewelry processing techniques of art metal . This topic is important both for gaining new knowledge and for introducing them into the educational process. To achieve this goal, the department began cooperation with the State Historical Museum and received from its collection for the study of two art objects - a bronze fibula with noisy appendages of the IX-XI centuries from the Podbolotyevskoye burial ground of Muroma and a Venetian (?) chest of the XVIII century.
