Mr. and Mrs. Bixby lived in a small apartment somewhere in New York City. Mr. Bixby was a dentist, had a medium income and a small height. Mrs. Bixby was a big energetic woman with a good appetite. She had a wealthy lover, a gentleman known as Colonel. They met twelve times a year, not so much — and therefore could hardly bore each other. It's been eight years. After another meeting, the Colonel gave her a Christmas gift of six thousand dollars - a fur coat made of Labrador mink. The letter announced the termination of their relationship ..
