Armino Fabbio works as a guide in a travel company. Together with tourists on the bus, he moves from one city of Italy to another . This way of life is quite pleasing to him .. But the incident that happened in Rome (near the church killed a beggar, in which Armino recognizes a servant who once worked in the house of his parents), forcing the hero to leave his job and return to Ruffano - the town where his childhood passed. There, unexpectedly for himself, he finds a brother who was considered dead in 1943. This meeting is hardly a joyous one...... [ Aldo, a university professor, lives in a world of his own fantasies, presenting himself as the Duke of Claudio, nicknamed Falcon, who lived in Ruffano several centuries before the real events and kept the entire population of the town in fear. This line between the present and the future, fiction and reality, at first glance so thin, in fact, is so strong that only death can break it.
