The Book of the Dead, Bardo Todol, the Tibetan holy book, is read like a psalter over the grave of the deceased within 40 days of his death, excluding the first three days. Of course, when the deceased is poor, the reading is shortened, and sometimes even only remembered, as we have on the third day, the ninth, twentieth and fortieth .. Or they will just put it under the head of the deceased .. This book is a guide to how to behave to the deceased in the light of .. On the other hand, it is a warning to us living in how and what to prepare for while still alive, in relation, alas, to the inevitable departure from here .. This book is about what will happen to us when we die, and how to prepare for what awaits us on the Border and further, until (as the book states) we again fall Here, back, into another timeless Existence.
