Franois Villon's "Great Testament", including his famous ballads, became a role model for centuries, but it was neither the first nor the only one. In this book, an attempt is made to restore the French medieval tradition of poetic wills - tragic and amusing, parodic and sublime. Authors include Jean Baudelaire and Rutbf, Nicole Boson and Vatrice Brassenieu, Estash Deschan and Jean Rainier, Pierre de Nesson and Jean Molyneux . These works have not previously been translated into Russian and almost all are published for the first time. The very "Testament" of Villon is presented in one of the few complete translations.
