These words are not written to be read. They are written so that there is something left for me to remember about my life, when the memories are finally darkened, and the flesh will turn to dust. Life has not been merciful to me. I am not saying this out of resentment, for the universe is a cruel cradle. Goodness, happiness, contentment all this is a lie that we clothe ourselves with, deliminating through a hungry night. We're just candles burning in the dark That's the truth. To believe in something else is to be blind. But I lived. I made my way through being, one breath at a time, one heartbeat at a time. When I look back at the gate of oblivion, I will see the road. I'll know how I lived.... That's why I write these lines to remember .
